J. Michael Mahaffey, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, concentrates his practice in governmental law and admiralty law, and he has a broad range of experience that includes maritime and commercial litigation.

He believes his goal as a lawyer is to guide clients to accomplish what they desire in an efficient and affordable way. He also believes attorneys should provide counsel, other than legal advice, to clients when requested.

He treats all clients equally, whether they’re the president of the company or a secretary. He learned this early in his career when he noticed that a prospective client with a small business matter was just as likely to be assisted by a senior partner or an attorney fresh out of law school. That example set by his seniors taught him that all clients were considered important and deserving of the best possible service.

Mike is married and has three sons, three wonderful daughters-in-law and seven grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys golf and dove and quail hunting.
